A BILL to amend article ten, chapter seventeen of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twenty-six, relating to the county commissions of each
county receiving notice of transportation projects.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article ten, chapter seventeen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twenty-six to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. COUNTY COMMISSIONS; MUNICIPALITIES; GENERAL
AUTHORITY AND DUTIES AS TO ROADS, ETC.
§17-10-26. County commissions to receive annual notice of
transportation projects.
The secretary of the department of transportation shall
report annually to each county commission on all transportation
projects planned in that county for the next fiscal year, as well
as solicit the input of county commissioners, mayors and citizensof every incorporated city and town within the county:
Provided,
That the county commissioners and officials of any metropolitan
area within that county shall be responsible for coordinating the
public input process with the annual state planning process.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide for maximum
citizen input of transportation projects planned in that county
for the next fiscal year.
